Chancellor Pays Visit to University of Nairobi Alumni Association (UONAA) Kenya Science Office

The Chancellor, University of Nairobi, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi, made an extensive two-day tour of the Colleges of: Health Sciences, Biological and Physical Science and Education and External Studies. Dr. Vijoo, who was visiting the Colleges for the first time since her appointment as Chancellor, was accompanied by the Chairman of Council, Dr. Idle Farah and the University of Nairobi management team lead by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George Magoha. As part of her tour she made a stop over at the UONAA Kenya Science Campus office.

In her remarks to the College Academic Boards, Dr. Vijoo said that the purpose of her visit was to familiarize herself with the activities of the University in general and she would visit other Colleges in due course. Dr. Vijoo commended the University Community for the great work in maintaining scholarly excellence. She thanked her predecessor, Dr. Joseph Wanjui and the University team for laying down a solid foundation for corporate oversight and compliance for best practices. She thanked the Vice-Chancellor and his team for strengthening the internal procedures. Dr. Vijoo committed to retaining a reputation for excellence with continuous improvement which is an important aspect of the University’s culture.

During the tour, Dr. Vijoo had an opportunity to visit various College units, sampling some of the Colleges facilities and activities in place. The Chancellor also interacted with faculty and students, and she challenged the students to work hard, acquiring skills that will contribute to the development of the nation.


As part of her visit to Kenya Science, she payed a visit to our Kenya Science Alumni office, which serves as the headquarters of the association. Below are some pictures of her visit:
