Anne AchiengAseey PhD

Anne AchiengAseey is a senior lecturer and a departmentalcoordinator at the University of Nairobi. She holds a Postdoctoral International Certificate inLeveraging Local Assets for Community Economic Development (Israel), PhD, M.ED and Bachelor of Education (Arts) all from University of Nairobi.

She is also the organizing secretary for Gender Network for Universities in Africa (GENUA), a member the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) professional Network and the Association for Women's Rights in Development (AWID).She teaches instructional Communication and technology and gender studies amongst other courses.She has presented papers at several conferences on ICT, Pedagogy and Andragogy, Gender issues, mobile learning, and social media among others.. Her current research is focused on technology and education, social media and mobile learning and Gender issues and development.

As the Vice Chairperson, University of NairobiAlumni Association (UONAA), my focus will be on mobilization of the Alumni members, strengthening the Alumni chapters and launching more chapters including the regional networks to ensure visibility and inclusivity. The other area of major concern will be to partner and collaborate with the UoN Alumni wherever they are, and other partners both local and international, to contribute to various projects and infrastructural development of the Alumni Association. Andlastly, starting a women league within the Alumni Association,to leverage on the strength of others to act as mentors,sponsors and Big Sisters to others in the community
